About 1689 Seeds

Welcome to 1689 Seeds!
This website exists to help organizations in their efforts of planting 1689 confessing churches.

We do this by providing a platform for people to list themselves as “Seeds”.
Our platform then connects organizations with these individuals regarding Church Plating efforts in their area.

1689 Seeds is a ministry project that is part of the online directories provided by 1689.com.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Q: WHAT IS A 1689 SEED?
A: A “1689 Seed” is a term we use to describe an individual who needs a church planted nearby to them, a church that confesses the 1689 Confession

  2. Q: WHAT IS THE 1689 CONFESSION?
A: The “1689 Confession” refers to the 2nd London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689, which is a historical, reformed, and baptist confession of faith that consists of 32 chapters.

You can read it online at: 1689.org.uk

  3. Q: WHAT IS A 1689 CONFESSING CHURCH?
A: A “1689 Confessing Church” is a church that uses the 1689 Confession as the church’s doctrinal standard. 1689 confessing churches may require that their Church’s Officers (Elders/Pastors, Deacons, etc.) or Church Members to affirm/subscribe to the Confession (or agree to not contest or teach against it).

  4. Q: HOW DO I GET LISTED IN THE DIRECTORY?
A: You can use the Submission Form to request to be added to the 1689 Seeds Directory. When you successfully complete and submit the form, you will receive an emailed confirmation with a unique Seed Number (#). If your submission is approved, it will be listed in the Directory and can be identified by that number.

The submission form can be found at: https://1689seeds.org/submission-form

  5. Q: HOW DO I UPDATE OR REMOVE MY SEED’S INFORMATION IN THE DIRECTORY?
A: You can use the Data Update or Removal Form to request to have their Seed’s data updated or removed from the 1689 Seeds Directory.

The Data Update or Removal Form can be found at: https://1689seeds.org/data-updates-removals

  6. Q: WHO CAN SEE MY SEED’S INFORMATION?
A: Anyone can view the public (and non-identifiable) information related to your seed, via the Worldwide Map and the Data Table. This information does not include personally identifiable information, such as your name or contact information. Additionally, your mapped location marker is never set exactly to your residence / mailing address, it is set to something else nearby in the area (post office, town hall, police station, church, road etc.)

Only verified organizations (that are involved with the work of planting 1689 Churches) can obtain your personal contact information, such as your name, email address, phone number, or mailing address.

The Organizations that have been verified and approved to request Seed Information can be found at: https://1689seeds.org/organizations

  7. Q: WHY WAS MY SEED REMOVED FROM THE DIRECTORY?
A: Any 1689 Seed listed in the Directory can be removed by the website administration team for any reason, at any time. The most common reasons why a seed is removed is because:

    – The Seed was submitted with information that was later found to not be accurate and/or reliable.

    – The Seed is later determined to be well within the vicinity of an existing 1689 confessing church. (In cases where new church plant(s) are planted, we will allow the Seed to remain in the directory for at least 30 days after an organization has indicated that they have attempted contacting the Seed regarding a new church plant.)

    – The Seed was requested to be removed, and the request was determined to be valid and authentic by the website’s administration team. (We normally verify requests by emailing the email address that was originally provided when the Seed was Submitted, and requesting a response to confirm the action.)

  8. Q: WHAT IS YOUR PRIVACY POLCY?
A: The Privacy Policy for this website can be found at: https://1689seeds.org/privacy-policy
